ALL - CITY The boys performed well at All - City Championships and earned a 2nd place finish. We are starting to see some breakout swims that we have been waiting for. I think we are going to have a great end to the season. I bill this meet as the first of our 3 championship meets (SWMO & State still to come). Our Medley Relay did well. We are now a combined 1:42.5 with our best splits. I think we need to be 1:41 going into State. Our big 200 free was Noah Scott. He dropped 3 seconds and broke the 2 minute barrier for the first time. Andrew Workman, Brett Taylor & Noah Phillips all had best times too. Andrew Smith & Yutes had bests in the IM. Garrett, Mason Brown and Kyle Clingan had bests in the 50. Scott Brand placed 4th on the board. AJ Stangeland had a big swim in the fly and is setting himself up for a run at a State cut. Mason Brown dropped time and is close to getting under a minute as well. Daniel Senn is setting himself up to win the fly at SWMO. He continues to have strong performances. Celo also added a best time and continues to work himself into a position to score in that event at SWMO. The 100 frees were solid with Noah Scott and Kyle Clingan earning best times. Corey Marquardt was the big time dropper in the 500 free. The 200 Free Relay earned a 2nd place finish overall with a solid swim. We need to be in the 1:31 range going into State in that relay. Celo once again had a time drop in the back as did Matt Mac. The breaststrokers swam great and all had best times (AJ, Andrew Smith, Yutes and Trey). There were a ton of best splits from the guys on the relays as well. Andrew Carson, Wyatt Harness, Nick Stone, Manny and Taylor Wilson all swam some of their fastest splits of the season.
It is going to be an exciting last 2 - 3 weeks of the season for these guys. We need to stay focused, getting a little more speed, eat right, get plenty of rest and be ready to swim fast and dive well. |
