Kickapoo vs. Central We came out with a win against Central 100 - 82, but it definitely wasn’t an easy win. We lost several very close races, but our depth proved too much. Captain Garrett Estebo led the team with wins in the 50 free and 100 back. Andrew Workman, Trey Upton and Scott Brand also won individual events for us. The meet started out a little rough and we found ourselves done by as much as 10 points in the first 5 events. Once the second half of the meet started we were able to gain control of the meet after we went 1 - 2 - 3 in the 100 free with Trey Upton, Noah Scott and Kyle Clingan. We finished the meet with a win in the 400 free relay as well. I am not too worried about losing the close races because I figured fatigue would hit us after doing 50 x 100 on Monday night. We are in a critical time of our training and I am asking for a little more from the guys. I saw the intensity I wanted to see in most of the races, it is definitely improving (Paul Yutesler had a great effort in the last 50 of his 200 IM). We just didn’t have the juice to finish the races. But we will when it matters in November.
Up next are Glendale and MICDS on Friday. |
