Weekend Re-Cap

On Friday, we had a good showing at the Big Dog Duals, won the meet against Liberty North but lost the meets against Rockhurst and Park Hill South (not surprised).  The guys did pretty good, but I thought overall we lacked fire in our races.  It is something we are trying to focus on in practice and in our mental preparations.  Garrett Estebo made his second State qualifying time of the season in the 100 free. 

On Saturday, we experienced our first Invitational and had a good showing.  We placed 5th out of 18 teams.  Our Medley Relay placed 8th overall (Strong, Stangeland, Brown & White). We placed 2nd in the 200 free relay (Estebo, Brown, Upton and White) and 6th in the 400 Free (Estebo, Strong, Brown & Senn).  Top 16 individuals were Daniel Senn, Andrew Smith, Garrett Estebo, Taylor Strong, Mason White, Scott Brand, Andrew Workman and Trey Upton. 

It was good for all of the guys to get a chance to swim.  Most of the time at an invitational only the top 4 in each event get to swim and it is limited much like Friday night. 

We have a meet against Blue Springs and Lee’s Summit West on Tuesday.  Should be another good one.
