Head Coach Jason Hite
Jason is entering his 5th year as head coach of the Kickapoo Girls Swimming & Diving Team and is coming off another successful season where the team finished 12th at the state meet. Jason swam in high school for Lee’s Summit, where he finished 3rd place in the 500 free & 5th place in the 200 IM at state his senior year (’93). Jason went on to swim at Drury University where he was a team captain & earned Academic All-American honors as a senior (’97). Jason continued at Drury as a graduate assistant coach for the men’s & women’s teams. Coach Hite has also coached for Parkview, Greenwood, Ozark & Nixa high schools and this year adds the Marshfield girls. Jason and his wife Heidi have three boys - Ethan (7), Harrison (6) and Max (3), enjoys being with his family, playing golf and has started getting into training for triathlons. Jason teaches 1st grade at Phelps Center for Gifted and works at Millwood Golf & Racquet Club in the summer.
Assistant Coach Meagan Wiggs
Meagan will be enjoying her 2nd year with Kickapoo Girls Swim Team, returning from 2008 as Assistant Coach. As a coach she strives to develop and build strong character, positive attitude, speed and technique in all of her women athletes. Meagan has coached in the past for H.A.Y.S. Swim Club in Kansas for 2 years and has spent almost 10 years teaching private lessons to adult and young swimmers. Meagan grew up in the mid-west portion of Kansas, starting swimming at the age of 4. She swam for Hays High School and placed 3rd in the 50 Free and 6th in the 100 Backstroke at STATE her senior year. She then had the opportunity to swim on scholarship at Drury University making the National Championship Team for the years of 1999-2000 and 2000-2001. Her years of swimming have been some of her most favorite memories! Meagan works as a Social Worker and enjoys her free time with her husband Cole. She loves art, music, volunteering in Youth Ministries and any kind of physical training. Her on-going athletic goal is to participate in a 1/2 marathon every year. She finished her 2nd half marathon this last year and loved it. Meagan looks forward to a successful and challenging year for the Lady Chiefs. “Get EM’ Team POO!”
